Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dedicated Post Graduate Fellow in Upper Gastrointestinal Tract Surgery to join our team at Concord Repatriation General Hospital!

The primary purpose of the role of the Post Graduate Fellow in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery is to provide program of additional training to develop subspecialty interests in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, and to further develop core clinical skills required in this area. The Post Graduate Fellow will have completed advanced training to become a specialist medical practitioner in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, or have completed specialist training in another discipline relevant to the Fellowship training program.
The Post Graduate Fellow will provide high quality clinical care, diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Upper Gastro Intestinal Surgery at the level of a Post Graduate Fellow, and participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery Department and Concord Hospital as required. They will ensure high standards of professional performance and contribute to an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
In this position, there is a focus on advanced laparoscopic skills. Cancer surgery across the spectrum of oesophago-gastric, pancreatic and liver procedures are performed. There are opportunities for medical officers to learn and perform Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP). Clinically based research opportunities exist.
The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACs) with recognised qualifications in Upper Gastro Intestinal Surgery and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award. (Note: Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship prior to, or within three months of the expected commencement date, may be considered.)

Salaryand conditions are in accordance withthe NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
