Job summary

YesAbility in Albany is hiring a Behaviour Support Practitioner to conduct PBS assessments and develop evidence-based plans for clients with complex needs. The role requires on-site residence at Albany and close collaboration with occupational therapists, psychologists, and other specialists.

You will deliver therapy services and support participants, families and carers through tailored interventions, while maintaining rigorous case notes and engaging in ongoing supervision and professional

Qualifications

• Registered (Suitable-Core or Proficient) Behaviour Support Practitioner is essential.
• Relevant qualification in an Allied Health background or Behavioural Science.
• Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) or equivalent certification.
• NDIS Clearance.
• Working with Children’s Card and National Police Clearance.
• Current driving license.

Responsibilities

• Complete indirect and direct assessment including observations and data collection to develop Behaviour Support Plans and Functional Behaviour Assessments.
• Support NDIS participants and carers with interventions and strategies outlined in plans; include fade out of restrictive practices where appropriate.
• Deliver therapy services to clients with intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, mental illness, brain injury and trauma.
• Reside at our regional location (Albany).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Early Intervention Psychotherapists, Support Coordinators.
• Maintain detailed case notes and progress reports in our client database.
• Participate in regular supervision and professional development opportunities.

What you’ll do

• Provide support to clients through individualized therapy plans
• Reside at our regional location (Albany).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Early Intervention Psychotherapists, Support Coordinators
• Maintain detailed case notes and progress reports using our client database.
• Participate in regular supervision and professional development opportunities
• Registered (Suitable- Core or Proficient) experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner is essential
• Relevant Qualification in an Allied Health background or Behavioural Science. Board certified Behaviour Analyst or over 2 years’ experience in delivering Positive Behaviour Support
• Demonstrated experience working with complex needs and challenging behaviours – this is necessary
• NDIS Clearance
• Working with Children’s card, National police clearance and current driving license
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of the NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission

Tasks and responsibilities

• Complete indirect and direct assessment including observations and data collection and collate the data for the development of Behaviour Support Plans and Functional Behavioural Assessments.
• Support NDIS participants with disability, their carers, family and significant others. Provide training and support in interventions and strategies outlined in the behaviour support plans, which may involve fade out plans for restrictive practices.
• Support the participant to meet their person‑centered goals.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
