Portfolio Governance and Sustainability Officer

This newly created role will combine your passion for project governance and environmental and social impact.

Queensland Country is committed to being environmentally, culturally and socially responsible and recognises that people are at the heart of everything we do. We are currently seeking a motivated and analytical minded Portfolio Governance and Sustainability Officer to join our Sustainability and Portfolio Governance team and sit within the broader People and Culture department.

This role will assist in progressing key initiatives across the Portfolio Management Office and Sustainability functions. Working collaboratively with key stakeholders, this role will contribute to the organisations preparation and understanding of portfolio management and sustainability initiatives and carbon reporting.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in upholding compliance with policies and contributing to the overall strategic objectives of the organisation. This is a full-time position based on a 38-hour work week, located at either our Townsville Head Office, Brisbane City Office or Cairns Administration Centre.

About You

With previous experience in project management, strong interpersonal skills and a thirst for analysis and reporting, this newly created role will provide an exciting opportunity to further develop your skills across not one but two key business areas and provide opportunity to create genuine environmental and social impact.

  • Analytical and problem solving skills, with a focus on interpreting information and identifying actionable insights
  • Knowledge and application of project management practices and project governance
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including the ability to articulate information in a clear, concise manner for a range of audiences
  • Effective time management skills and flexible to changing priorities
  • Strong customer service delivery and stakeholder management skills
  • A general understanding and interest in core sustainability topics including social impact and the roles of mitigation and adaption relating to Climate Change
  • Understanding or willingness to learn greenhouse gas calculation and methodology (desirable)
