Job description

Join Australian Retirement Trust as our Portfolio Analyst - Private Credit. Play a key role in supporting private credit investment strategies through research, analysis, reporting, and portfolio oversight. Working alongside experienced investment professionals, you’ll help shape investment decisions that support members’ best financial interests while gaining exposure to a complex and high-value investment portfolio across a growing asset class.

Description

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Portfolio Analyst - Private Credit, you’ll support the successful execution of private credit investment strategies through high-quality analysis, research, portfolio monitoring, and stakeholder collaboration. You’ll be part of the Mid Risk Assets and UK team, contributing to the strategic management of private credit investments and helping ensure investment decisions align with member outcomes and organisational objectives.

Working within a sophisticated investment environment, you’ll contribute to investment research, support due diligence activities, develop reporting and analysis, and help maintain the data, models, frameworks, and tools that underpin portfolio management activities. You’ll also work closely with stakeholders across Investments to support governance, risk management, and investment performance outcomes.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Sydney or Brisbane.

Responsibilities

Day to day, you’ll:

  • Undertake research and analysis to support the development and implementation of private credit investment strategies.
  • Support investment identification, due diligence, oversight and optimisation activities across private credit portfolios.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, risk exposures and compliance with investment mandates.
  • Build, maintain and enhance investment data, models, frameworks and analytical tools.
  • Prepare timely reporting and analysis to support investment decision-making and agreement negotiations.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and collaborate across investment teams.
  • Support governance, compliance and risk management obligations.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications

It goes without saying you’ll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We’ll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It’s quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • You hold tertiary qualifications in finance, investments, commerce, economics, or a related discipline.
  • Your research and analytical capabilities are highly developed.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present information clearly.
  • You’re able to build effective stakeholder relationships and collaborate across teams.
  • You understand, or are keen to develop your understanding of, the Australian superannuation industry.
  • Your attention to detail helps ensure consistently accurate and high-quality work.
  • You’re proficient, or willing to become proficient, in relevant systems and in working with investment data and reporting tools.
