Job summary

Australian Retirement Trust is seeking a Portfolio Analyst - Balance Sheet in Sydney to support the execution of investment strategies and balance sheet management. You will assist with liquidity oversight, capital allocation and collateral positions while contributing to data, models and reporting tools.

Working with experienced investment professionals, you’ll monitor portfolio performance, risk analysis and mandate compliance.

Qualifications

  • Holds tertiary qualifications in finance, investments, commerce, economics or related discipline.
  • Research and analytical skills to understand complex investment issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build stakeholder relationships and collaborate within a team.
  • Experience using analytical, reporting or investment systems.
  • Attention to detail to produce accurate, high-quality work.
  • Ideally progressing towards postgraduate or professional investment qualifications.
  • Familiar with financial modelling, valuation principles or quantitative analysis techniques.
  • Quantitative programming capabilities or interest in developing these skills.
  • Experience in superannuation, investments or financial services is highly regarded.

Join Australian Retirement Trust as our Portfolio Analyst - Balance Sheet. In this role, you'll support investment strategy through analysis, research and portfolio insights that help drive strong outcomes for our members. Working within our Defensive and Liquid Assets and Portfolio Intelligence team, you'll contribute to balance sheet management, liquidity oversight, portfolio monitoring and investment decision-making in a complex and highly valued investment environment.

Working alongside experienced investment professionals, you'll undertake detailed research and analysis, contribute to portfolio monitoring activities, and support balance sheet investment management. You'll have the opportunity to work across liquidity management, capital allocation, collateral oversight and investment analytics, helping to shape insights that support strategic decision-making.

You'll also contribute to the development and improvement of investment data, models, frameworks and reporting tools while building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business. Your work will help support governance, risk management and operational excellence across the investment function.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane or Sydney.

Responsibilities

Day to day, you'll:

  • Undertake research and analysis to support the development and implementation of balance sheet investment strategies.
  • Assist with monitoring liquidity buffers, capital allocation and collateral positions.

Qualifications
