Job summary

Carrathool Shire Council is seeking a Pool Attendant to supervise the pool complex, ensure a safe environment, and provide friendly service to all patrons. Key duties include equipment checks, cleaning, fee collection or pass verification, patrolling the pool, incident reporting, and daily/weekly checklists.

Applicants should have First Aid and strong communication skills; experience with pool operations is desirable.

Qualifications

• First Aid certification.
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
• Excellent verbal communication and ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.
• Previous cash handling and reconciliation skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pool users and maintain a safe environment.
• Check lifesaving equipment before opening.
• Clean toilets/change rooms daily.
• Collect entrance fees or verify annual passes, with receipts filed at Council's office.
• Monitor pool grounds, keep area tidy and free of litter.
• Enforce pool rules and expel patrons if necessary.
• Complete incident reports for accidents or misconduct.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists and record pool usage and water temperature.
• Close pool during inclement weather or low patronage.
• Check, lock and secure complex before leaving.
