Job summary

Department of the Premier and Cabinet (Victoria) in Melbourne is seeking a focused policy professional to provide advice on whole-of-government workforce management for Victoria’s public servants and public sector employees. You will support executive employment, remuneration matters and the work of the Victorian Public Sector Commission.

Qualifications

• Policy development and design: analysing information, consulting others to gain understanding, developing policy solutions.
• Written communication: prepare clear briefs, emails and other written products tailored to audience.
• Critical thinking and problem solving: assess, prioritise and advise on solutions in fast-paced environments.
• Stakeholder management: communicate policies clearly to staff and stakeholders and build relationships.
• Flexibility and adaptability: be flexible, adaptable and resilient to changing priorities with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop advice on a wide range of public sector workforce policy matters.
• Develop timely and accurate reports, briefs and correspondence.
• Establish effective relationships with key stakeholders within and beyond DPC.
• Contribute to a positive culture focused on learning, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Undertake other duties as directed aligned with role and Cabinet/Governance Branch responsibilities.
