Job summary

Department of Education Victoria in Melbourne is seeking a Policy and Data Analyst to support the Disability Inclusion Resourcing team. The role involves data governance, budgeting, forecasting, and improving procedures to inform policy decisions.

You will work flexibly to generate and assure funding outcome data, map processes, and provide plain-English insights to non-technical stakeholders. This is a fixed-term, full-time position until 31 December 2027.

Qualifications

• Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Interest in public policy and the role of data and evidence in improving outcomes.
• Ability to apply critical thinking to analyse data and provide evidence-based advice.
• Clear communication of analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Tertiary qualification in a related discipline relevant to policy or data.
• Experience with sourcing, cleaning, analysing and interpreting datasets for policy outcomes.
• Familiarity with Excel, SQL, R, Python, or similar tools gained through work or study.
