BFS Children's Services is a not-for-profit organisation with 40+ community preschools, long day care and out-of-school hours care across Australia. We’re looking for a Policy Coordinator in Head Office to develop, manage and implement our policy framework to support high-quality education from birth to 12 years.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing and managing an organisational policy framework.
• Experience in developing, reviewing, updating policies.
• High level policy writing and report writing skills.
• High level organisational skills; ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
• Strong research and analysis capabilities.
• Confident verbal communicator.
• Interest in public policy, advocacy or sector reform.
• Knowledge of early childhood and out of school hours sector is desirable.

Right now, we’re looking for a Policy Coordinator to join our team of specialists in Head Office. As a Policy Coordinator you will be responsible for the development, management, and implementation of the policy framework, including policies, procedures, and guidelines, to support our organisation in delivering high-quality education to children from birth to 12 years. The role will also support the CEO and Executive Team with sector advocacy, policy analysis, government engagement, and the development of submissions and position papers that influence policy and strengthen outcomes across the education and care sector.

What you need to succeed

• Demonstrated experience in a developing and managing an organisational policy framework.
• Demonstrated experience in developing, reviewing, updating, and managing organisational policies.
• High level policy writing skills and report writing skills.
• High level organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and / or projects.
• High level research and analysis skills and experience.
• A skilled, experienced, and confident verbal communicator.
• Demonstrated interest in public policy, advocacy or sector reform.
• Knowledge of early childhood and out of school hours sector is desirable.

• Evidence of completion of the National Child Safety Training Foundation Course
• Details of a minimum two referees, where one must be a manager or supervisor at your current or most recent workplace.
