Primary objective

Work within a small team to assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of organisational performance metrics, and change management associated with strategic governance activities and projects, to improve the quality and efficiency of services in the Northern Territory Police.

Key duties and responsibilities
  1. Coordinate reporting requirements for the NT Police Executive and provide secretariat support to governance committees as required.
  2. Assist with project management functions and reporting requirements associated with strategic governance activities and projects.
  3. Assist with processes associated with promulgation of General Orders, internal policy and program evaluation activity.
  4. Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring, reporting and analysis of organisational performance metrics.
  5. Prepare and produce reports, briefing papers and responses to requests for information from a range of stakeholders.
  6. Provide general administrative support such as document filing and retrieval, coding of invoices, printing and collating documents etc.
Selection criteria
  1. Essential
  2. Experience in preparing and presenting high level papers and reports, and providing secretariat support services to high level committees.
  3. Proven ability to conduct targeted, comprehensive, timely and high quality research to support policy development.
  4. Effective oral and written communication skills to prepare briefs, reports, correspondence; and to maintain and develop stakeholder relationships.
  5. Ability to work under pressure, coordinate and manage tasks, prioritise commitments and meet critical deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
  6. Ability to work with initiative and autonomy, both independently and as part of a team, in a continually changing environment.
  7. Good interpersonal, collaboration and diplomacy skills, including the ability to represent the agency at meetings, present to executive, and network with stakeholders.
Desirable
  1. Qualifications or experience in a relevant field such as, business, policy development, project management, program evaluation.
  2. An understanding of internal and external issues likely to impact upon the Northern Territory Police Force.
