Job summary

The Victorian Government's Department of Education in Melbourne is seeking a VPS4 Policy Advisor to support policy advice and analysis on the early childhood workforce. This fixed-term full-time role runs until 30 June 2027 and sits within the Workforce Strategy team.

You will lead written and verbal advice, develop policy analysis, prepare briefings and cabinet submissions, and work with stakeholders to strengthen teacher and educator supply and quality under the Best Start, Best Life reforms.

Qualifications

• Relevant university qualifications.
• Experience in policy design and communication.

Responsibilities

• Providing high quality and timely written and verbal advice to leadership.
• Contributing to policy analysis and development that builds the evidence base.
• Developing a range of written communication products, including slide decks, briefings and cabinet submissions.
• Using data insights to inform strategic policy development and options analysis.
• Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to inform analysis and policy development.
• Being an integral part of a high-performing and collaborative team.
