Job summary

The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) seeks a dedicated Podiatrist to deliver high-quality podiatric care across Broken Hill and the Far West network, focusing on chronic foot conditions and preventing amputations in high-risk diabetic populations.

This maximum-term contract runs until 30 June 2027 with ongoing funding, and offers flexible working arrangements including full-time, part-time and FIFO models to support successful candidates and regional communities.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section(RFDSSE) delivers high quality,accessible healthcare to people living in ruraland remote communities. As the contracted provider for the Western NSW PrimaryHealth Network (PHN), RFDSSE delivers the Keeping Healthy Puura Manti Program(KHPMP)—a time limited initiative designed to improve chronic disease outcomesacross the region.

The program integrates allied health and care coordinationservices to improve Chronic Disease Management (CDM) outcomes for people acrossthe region. As part of this program, our team works collaboratively to support selfmanagement, improve clinical outcomes, and enhance the wellbeing of high riskand underserved populations.

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Podiatrist to deliver high quality,evidence based podiatric care across Broken Hill and the Far West network. Thisrole is dedicated to the assessment, diagnosis, and management of chronic footconditions, with a specialised focus on preventing amputations and severedisability within high-risk diabetic populations. The position is offered on amaximum-term contract until 30 June 2027, subject to ongoing funding. Wewelcome flexible working arrangements and can accommodate full-time, part-timeand Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) models to support the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliverhigh quality podiatry assessment, treatment, and wound care
• Work collaborativelywithin a multidisciplinary team to support holistic health outcomes
• Develop andimplement care plans, particularly for clients with chronic conditions
• Liaise with internalstaff, external providers, and community services
• Maintain accurateclinical records and ensure continuity of care through follow-ups and referrals
• Provide culturallysafe and respectful care, supporting Aboriginal clients and their families
• Participate incommunity engagement, health promotion, and prevention programs
• Ensure infectioncontrol standards and safe maintenance of equipment
• Uphold professionalstandards, confidentiality, and compliance with AHPRA and organisationalpolicies
• Contribute toquality improvement, safety, and service development activities
• Engage in ongoing professional development andrepresent the organisation positively
• Registeredor eligible for registration with AHPRA.
• Demonstratedunderstanding of chronic disease management and multidisciplinary care.
• Abilityto work both independently and collaboratively with diverse client groups.
• Strongcommunication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingnessand ability to travel across the region.
• Proficiencyin MS Office and Outlook.
• Genuineinterest in improving health outcomes for rural and remote communities.
