Mackay Regional Council is seeking a Plumbing Inspector to join the Development Planning & Engineering Program. This permanent full-time role is based at the Gordon Street office in Mackay CBD and involves assessing applications, inspecting plumbing and drainage, and providing practical technical advice to industry professionals and the community.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications in plumbing and drainage withQBCC plumber and drainer licence.
• Backflow prevention and trade waste qualifications are desirable.
• Strong knowledge of relevant acts, standards and codes.
• Experience inspecting plumbing and drainage installations and applying regulations.
• Ability to interpret plans and technical information and conduct inspections.

Responsibilities

• Assess plumbing and drainage applications within statutory timeframes.
• Inspect and test sanitary plumbing and drainage installations, record works.
• Provide practical technical advice to applicants and industry professionals.
• Respond to enquiries on water supply, sewerage and trade waste matters.
• Investigate non-compliant matters and coordinate outcomes with stakeholders.
• Prepare reports, notices and compliance documentation.
• Contribute to a safe, collaborative team culture aligned with Council values.
