Job summary

Empire Plumbing is seeking an experienced Plumbing Foreman / Supervisor to oversee commercial plumbing and hydraulic projects across Canberra and surrounding regions. You will lead crews, coordinate builders and subcontractors, and drive projects from site establishment through completion with a focus on safety and quality.

The role requires a hands-on leader who can read plans, manage multiple trades, mentor apprentices, and collaborate with Project Managers and leadership to achieve successful

Qualifications

• Current Australian Plumbing Licence is mandatory.
• White Card (construction safety) is required.
• Driver Licence is required for travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of commercial plumbing and hydraulic projects.
• Supervise plumbers, apprentices and subcontractors.
• Coordinate works with builders, consultants and other trades.
• Read and interpret hydraulic drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
• Plan labour, materials, equipment and site resources.
• Monitor project progress and programme milestones.
• Conduct site meetings and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
• Manage procurement and material requirements to maintain project schedules.
• Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, company policies and Australian Standards.
• Maintain quality control and resolve site issues efficiently.
• Mentor and develop apprentices and junior tradespeople.
• Assist with project planning, forecasting and reporting as required.

Job description

Empire Plumbing is seeking an experienced Plumbing Foreman / Supervisor to oversee commercial plumbing and hydraulic projects across Canberra and surrounding regions.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who can take ownership of projects from site establishment through to completion, managing crews, coordinating builders and subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.

You’ll be trusted to manage everything from smaller commercial fitouts through to large-scale developments, while working closely with Project Managers and company leadership to achieve successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

About You

• Current Australian Plumbing Licence.
• Proven experience as a Foreman, Supervisor or Leading Hand on commercial projects.
• Strong commercial plumbing and hydraulic construction experience.
• Sound knowledge of AS/NZS 3500 Plumbing and Drainage Standards and NCC requirements.
• Ability to manage projects ranging from small fit‑outs to major commercial developments.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors.
• Ability to read plans, specifications and construction documentation.
• Current White Card and Driver Licence.
