Job summary

Service Stream is hiring multiple Plumbers to support Defence projects in South Australia, including Woomera, Edinburgh and Keswick. Permanent full-time roles focus on inspection, installation and maintenance of plumbing networks for Defence infrastructure.

We value experience reading blueprints, regulatory compliance and a collaborative approach. You will contribute to a high-security environment with ongoing training and career development opportunities within our Defence division.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Certificate III in Plumbing or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in large infrastructure environments preferred, Defence exposure is a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
  • Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting, diagnosing and repairing plumbing issues in Defence buildings.
  • Installing, maintaining and repairing fixtures such as sinks, toilets and water heaters.
  • Ensuring all work complies with current legislation and standards.
  • Conducting routine maintenance checks on plumbing systems and pipework.
  • Collaborating with maintenance staff and contractors to complete jobs.
  • Maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Responding promptly to emergency plumbing situations.
  • Advising on material and equipment selection for repairs and installations.
  • Providing guidance to junior staff and apprentices.
  • Participating in ongoing training to stay current with industry practices.
  • Identifying process improvements and implementing best practices.

We are hiring multiple Plumbers to support us in this contract. These are permanent full-time positions based at key sites across South Australia including Edinburgh, Keswick and Woomera.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responding to emergency plumbing situations promptly and efficiently.
  • Advising on the selection of materials and equipment for plumbing repairs and installations.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to junior staff and apprentices.
  • Participating in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry best practices.
  • Identifying areas for process improvement and work collaboratively with teams to implement best practices.
About you
  • Ideally 5 years’ experience in plumbing maintenance and repair work.
  • Experience working in large infrastructure environments, preferably within Defence or similar sectors.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Minimum of Certificate III in Plumbing or equivalent qualification, and valid Plumbing & Drainage Occupational Licence.
  • Licence endorsements for backflow prevention, heat pump water systems, on-site sewerage facility maintenance, solar water systems, and thermostatic mixing valves.
  • You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
