Responsibilities

• Assisting qualified plumbers with installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems.

• Preparing job sites, gathering tools and materials, and assisting with setup.
• Observing and learning pipe work, fittings, water system diagnostics and repairs.
• Performing basic plumbing tasks under supervision, including cutting pipes and testing connections.
• Maintaining tools and equipment and keeping the work vehicle organized.
• Keeping accurate records of work completed and time spent on tasks.
• Attending scheduled plumbing lectures and theory components as part of apprenticeship training.

Priority Pace Plumbing is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Plumber 1st year Apprentice to join our team in Nelson Bay, NSW. This is a full-time position based in Nelson Bay NSW 2315, where you will work alongside experienced plumbers and gain practical skills in all aspects of plumbing work. As a 1st year apprentice, you will be at the beginning of your four-year apprenticeship journey, learning the fundamentals of the trade whilst contributing to the delivery of quality plumbing services to our customers.

Key responsibilities

Assisting qualified plumbers with the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems in residential and commercial properties

Learning and applying safe plumbing practices and workplace health and safety procedures on all job sites

Preparing job sites, gathering tools and materials, and assisting with the setup required for plumbing work

Observing and learning proper techniques for pipe work, fitting installations, water system diagnostics and repairs

Performing basic plumbing tasks under supervision, including cutting pipes, assembling fittings and testing connections

Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order and keeping the work vehicle organised and clean

Keeping accurate records of work completed and time spent on various tasks

Attending scheduled plumbing lectures and theory components as part of your apprenticeship training

Willingness to complete the formal apprenticeship training components, including block release or day-release study at TAFE or registered training organisation

A commitment to workplace health and safety practices and a willingness to comply with all safety requirements
