Job summary

CBRE GWS Local is seeking a skilled Plumber to perform preventive maintenance, repairs and installation across a Macquarie Park facility. You will diagnose issues, test systems and ensure compliance with codes while coordinating with a facilities team.

The role requires a trade-school diploma and 3+ years' plumbing experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work safely on water and gas distribution systems.

Qualifications

• Trade school diploma with 3+ years of plumbing experience.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Physical requirements: ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders and lift 20 kg+.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
• Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Repair, install, replace, test and troubleshoot water and gas systems.
• Attend to breakdowns with high urgency.
• Complete plumbing safety inspections on backflow devices.
• Perform general maintenance and building systems duties as assigned.
• Install new water systems, piping and fixtures per plans and codes.
• Ensure waste and vent lines are in good condition.
• Provide training to staff for light plumbing maintenance.
• Respond to emergencies and follow HSE procedures.
• Report conditions that could cause accidents to management.

As a CBRE Plumber, you will be responsible for general preventive maintenance, repair, testing, installation, and troubleshooting of plumbing, mechanical and distribution systems throughout a facility. You will be working at a premier Macquarie Park corporate location with access to the client facilities.

About your new role:

• Repair, install, replace, test, and troubleshoot the water and gas supply and distribution system.
• Attend to breakdowns with high level of urgency.
• Complete plumbing safety inspections on backflow devices.
• Perform general maintenance and building systems operational duties as assigned or directed.
• Install new water systems, piping, and fixtures by blueprints, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Ensure waste and vent lines are in good operating condition using a plumber’s snake, vacuum plunger, or jet washer.
• Assist other staff members or contractors on projects or equipment installations.
• Provide training to other staff members so they can perform light plumbing maintenance and repair.
• Respond to emergency situations, summoning extra help as needed.
• Follow all activity policies and procedures, always including all HSE-related requirements.
• Complete all HSE programs & activities as required, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessment, etc.
• Report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury to management.

Skills and Experience:

Must have:

• Trade school diploma with 3+ years of job-related experience.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 20kgs. or more.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
• Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.

Nice to have:

• Plumbing certification at the Contractors License level preferred.
• Medical Gas certification and Backflow certification preferred.
• Supervisory experience is beneficial.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
