Job summary

CBRE Asia Pacific is seeking a Plumber in Melbourne's Northern Suburbs to perform preventive maintenance, repair, testing, installation, and troubleshooting of plumbing and distribution systems across a facility.

The role requires a trade school diploma with 3+ years of related experience, plus plumbing certification; medical gas and backflow certifications are preferred, along with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Trade school diploma with 3+ years of job-related experience.
  • Plumbing certification at the Contractors License level preferred.
  • Medical Gas certification and Backflow certification preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

  • Attend to breakdowns with high level of urgency.
  • Repair, install, replace, test, and troubleshoot water and gas supply and distribution systems.
  • Complete plumbing safety inspections on backflow devices.
  • Perform general maintenance and building systems operational duties as assigned.
  • Install new water systems, piping, and fixtures by blueprints and codes.
  • Respond to emergency situations and notify management as needed.
  • Follow HSE programs and related requirements.
  • Report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury.

As a CBRE Plumber, you will be responsible for general preventive maintenance, repair, testing, installation, and troubleshooting of plumbing, mechanical and distribution systems throughout a facility.

Here Is a Snapshot Of Your Day
  • Attend to breakdowns with high level of urgency.
  • Attend to and make good of faulty systems and breakdowns.
  • Form part of a wider team of multiple trades.
  • Repair, install, replace, test, and troubleshoot the water and gas supply and distribution system.
  • Complete plumbing safety inspections on backflow devices.
  • Perform general maintenance and building systems operational duties as assigned or directed.
  • Install new water systems, piping, and fixtures by blueprints, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Ensure waste and vent lines are in good operating condition using a plumber’s snake, vacuum plunger, or jet washer.
  • Assist other staff members or contractors on projects or equipment installations.
  • Provide training to other staff members so they can perform light plumbing maintenance and repair.
  • Respond to emergency situations, summoning extra help as needed.
  • Follow all activity policies and procedures, always including all HSE-related requirements.
  • Complete all HSE programs & activities as required, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessment, etc.
  • Report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury to management.
What You’ll Need
  • Trade school diploma with 3+ years of job-related experience.
  • Plumbing certification at the Contractors License level preferred.
  • Medical Gas certification and Backflow certification preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Supervisory experience is beneficial.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 20kgs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
