Job summary

South32 Group Operations Pty. Ltd. is recruiting for a Plumber on a permanent full-time basis, operating on a 7:7 roster with FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

The role delivers plumbing and hydraulic services that support remediation, refurbishment and construction projects while maintaining safety, environmental and quality standards. Qualifications include Certificate III in Plumbing, a current Plumbing and Gas Fitting Licence,

Qualifications

• Delivering plumbing works within industrial, mining, and heavy construction environments.
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs and upgrades to plumbing infrastructure.
• Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to achieve quality outcomes.
• Building strong working relationships with trades, contractors and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Complete fault finding, repairs and system upgrades
• Conduct inspections, testing and commissioning activities
• Interpret technical drawings and project specifications
• Support project planning to minimise operational disruption

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent full-time position on a 7:7 roster, rotating day and night shift. FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

As the Plumber, you will be responsible for delivering plumbing and hydraulic services that support structural remediation, refurbishment and construction projects while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Complete fault finding, repairs and system upgrades
• Conduct inspections, testing and commissioning activities
• Interpret technical drawings and project specifications
• Support project planning to minimise operational disruption

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Delivering plumbing works within industrial, mining, and heavy construction environments
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs and upgrades to plumbing infrastructure
• Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to achieve quality outcomes
• Building strong working relationships with trades, contractors and project teams

Qualifications for this position are:

• Certificate III in Plumbing
• Current Plumbing and Gas Fitting Licence
• Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry
• Current Drivers Licence
