Job summary

BLC Queensland Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Playground Installer with a strong carpentry or building background to join our Queensland construction team. The role focuses on installing commercial playground equipment and related structures, with opportunities to work on shelters, fencing and landscape elements.

The successful candidate will read and interpret drawings, perform precise site set-outs and coordinate with site supervisors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in playground installation, carpentry, building or structural construction.
• Strong practical knowledge of construction methods and fixings.
• Experience with timber, steel and prefabricated structures.
• Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering drawings.
• Competence with construction tools and accurate set-out.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Strong attention to detail, safety and workmanship.
• Current driver's licence and Construction White Card.

Responsibilities

• Install and assemble commercial playground equipment, including climbing structures, slides, swings and other recreational equipment.
• Interpret construction drawings, engineering details and manufacturer installation specifications.
• Undertake accurate site set-outs, levelling, structural fixings and anchoring.
• Install prefabricated structural steel shelters, shade structures and associated steel components.
• Construct and install fencing, gates and barriers.
• Complete associated carpentry, concrete footing works and general construction activities.
• Operate hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate with site supervisors and other trades to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
• Ensure installations comply with relevant Australian Standards, manufacturer requirements and workplace safety procedures.

Playground Installer – Carpentry / Building Background

Experienced Carpenter, Builder or Playground Installer Wanted!

BLC Queensland is seeking a skilled and motivated Playground Installer with a strong background in carpentry, building or structural installations to join our growing construction team.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced tradesperson who enjoys hands‑on construction, has strong technical installation skills and takes pride in delivering high‑quality workmanship.

Your primary responsibility will be installing commercial playground equipment and recreational infrastructure. However, the role will also involve the installation of structural steel shelters, fencing, shade structures and other associated landscape construction elements.

Previous playground installation experience is highly regarded, but we also welcome applications from experienced carpenters and builders with transferable skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and assemble commercial playground equipment, including climbing structures, slides, swings and other recreational equipment.

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong construction background who is confident working with their hands, solving problems and delivering quality installations.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in playground installation, carpentry, building or structural construction.
• Strong practical knowledge of construction methods, structural fixings and installation techniques.
• Experience working with timber, steel and prefabricated structures.
• Ability to confidently read and interpret construction and engineering drawings.
• Competence with construction tools, equipment and accurate set‑out.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of installation works.
• Strong attention to detail, workmanship and safety.
• Current driver's licence and Construction White Card.

Highly Regarded

• Trade qualification in Carpentry, Building or a related discipline.
• Experience installing commercial playground equipment.
• Experience erecting structural steel shelters and shade structures.
• Fencing and gate installation experience.
• Experience with concrete footings and structural anchoring systems.
• EWP, Working at Heights or relevant high-risk work licences.
• Experience leading small crews or coordinating installation activities.
