Job summary

Smart Communications is seeking a Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering Group in Sydney. You will design and build internal tooling and CI/CD pipelines, and improve developer experience across our enterprise cloud products.

You will work hands-on, shaping the direction of our tooling and automation, and collaborate closely with engineers, architects and stakeholders to deliver real value for the effort involved.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering skills with depth in at least one language.
• Strong grounding in testing frameworks, architecture and approaches (unit, integration, contract).
• Experience building and running containerised workloads in production.
• Experience with IaC - CloudFormation/CDK, Terraform, Pulumi.
• Experience designing and building CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building tooling or automation that other engineers depend on.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with engineers and stakeholders outside your team.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on role designing and building internal tooling and pipelines that enable engineers to ship software easily.
• Shape future direction of our Platform Engineering Group and internal platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and stakeholders to surface ideas and iterate toward value.
• Build pipelines and tooling that are reliable in production and scalable across teams.
