Auto & General is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build and improve the cloud platform that enables our developers to deliver high-quality software for customers. You’ll join a squad within the Cloud Platform team and work from our Toowong office in Brisbane, with hybrid work options and ongoing training opportunities.

In this role you will design and maintain Terraform configurations for AWS, manage Kubernetes clusters, develop CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to incident response while

• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services in an enterprise environment.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture and deploying applications to a cluster.
• Familiarity with observability tooling such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, or New Relic.
• Basic networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, and cloud networking concepts like VPCs, subnets, and routing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Proactive approach to learning new tools, systems, and cloud concepts.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.

You'll operate within one of our collaborative squads inside the larger Cloud Platform team. Key Responsibilities:

What experience you’ll bring

• Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services in an enterprise environment
• A solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture and experience deploying applications to a cluster
• Familiarity with observability concepts and tooling, such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, or New Relic
• A basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, and cloud networking concepts like VPCs, subnets, and routing
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly
• Aproactive approach to learning new tools, systems, and cloud concepts.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
