Job summary

Auto & General is seeking an Automation Analyst to join the Testing department within the Technology division. You will drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust performance testing, ensuring quality and usability of A&G's systems across rapid, scalable delivery.

The role reports to the Performance Lead and focuses on creating reliable performance tests, frameworks, and reports, with opportunities to explore AI-based tools and contribute to on-call support.

Qualifications

• IT-related degree or equivalent experience.
• Min. 3 years' experience as an Automation Engineer with a focus on performance.
• Experience with performance frameworks and automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute performance test cases for all A&G applications.
• Adhere to performance best practices for reusable, scalable tests.
• Collaborate with test teams on performance readiness and defect triage.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for timely quality and performance feedback.
• Partner with technical teams to optimise environment setup and deployments.
• Produce comprehensive performance test reports and identify improvements.
• Champion a 'Performance First' approach across teams.
• Develop/maintain performance frameworks and documentation.
• Explore PoC activities for AI-based tools in performance testing.

The position:

Auto & General is seeking a talented Automation Analyst to join our Testing department within the Technology division. In this role, you would play a pivotal part in delivering high-performing solutions that safeguard a brighter future for our customers.

The opportunity:

Reporting to our Performance Lead, you will be a key contributor within the Performance Test Team. Your expertise will drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust performance testing, ensuring the quality, consistency, and usability of Auto & General's diverse systems. This role is crucial for supporting rapid and scaled delivery, guaranteeing our application changes meet both specification and essential customer journey requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and execute performance test cases for all A&G applications.
• Adhere to performance best practices for reusable, scalable, and maintainable tests.

What experience you’ll bring:

• IT-related degree or equivalent experience.
• Min. 3 years' experience as an Automation Engineer (with a focus on performance).
• Knowledge of performance frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium).
• Experience with CI/CD and version control (e.g., Bamboo, Bitbucket, GitLab/Hub).
• Experience building/extending performance test frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving, time, and resource management.
• Pragmatic and resilient.
• Knowledge of Auto & General products.

Location:

This role is available at any of our Brisbane and Sunshine Coast locations providing flexibility to choose the office that suits you. Our Toowong office is close to the city with easy public transport and parking options while our North Lakes offices are within walking distance of some of the north side’s best retail locations. If you love a view of the water, why not consider our Kawana office on the edge of Lake Kawana and only a five minute drive to the closest beach.
