Job summary

Showtime Consulting Pty Ltd is seeking a seasoned Platform / DevOps Engineer to join a large-scale tech environment in Canberra/Sydney. You will design, build and operate CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and GitOps workflows to enable fast, secure software delivery.

You will work with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/Azure, and automation to keep platforms scalable, secure and highly available while collaborating with development teams on new applications and features.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI or CircleCI.
• Strong Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• Experience with IaC using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Cloud experience: AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Scripting in Python, Bash or Ruby.
• Knowledge of GitOps tools like ArgoCD.
• Helm-based deployments experience.
• Kubernetes concepts: isolation, quotas, scalability.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment.
• Develop reusable platform capabilities and standard delivery patterns for engineering teams.
• Create service templates, pipeline components, Kubernetes baselines and observability packages.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Manage cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Build and maintain containerised workloads with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and manage Helm-based deployments.
• Enforce platform Kubernetes controls for isolation and scalability.
• Enable self-service through APIs, CLIs and automated workflows.
• Implement GitOps with ArgoCD.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Set up monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK.
• Collaborate with development teams on new apps and features.
• Apply security best practices across platform engineering and deployment processes.
• Document configurations and best practices.
• Participate in on-call support for production systems.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Platform / DevOps Engineer to join a large-scale technology environment in Sydney.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and enhancing modern platform capabilities, with a strong emphasis on CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes and automation.
You will work closely with development and engineering teams to streamline software delivery, build reusable platform capabilities, establish GitOps workflows, and ensure platforms remain scalable, secure and highly available.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, testing and deployment.
• Develop reusable platform capabilities and standardised delivery patterns for engineering teams.
• Create service templates, CI/CD pipeline components, Kubernetes baselines and observability packages.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Manage and support cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Build and maintain containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and manage Helm-based deployments.
• Implement platform-level Kubernetes controls supporting isolation, resource quotas and scalability.
• Enable self-service engineering through APIs, CLIs and automated workflows.
• Implement GitOps practices using technologies such as ArgoCD.
• Monitor platform and system performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Implement monitoring and observability using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana and ELK.
• Work with development teams to support the integration and deployment of new applications and features.
• Apply security best practices across platform engineering and deployment processes.
• Document platform configurations, processes and engineering best practices.
• Participate in on-call support for production systems.

What You’ll Need

• 5–7 years’ experience within DevOps, Platform Engineering or a similar engineering role.
• Strong hands‐on experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins, GitLab CI or CircleCI.
• Strong experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash or Ruby.
• Experience with GitOps practices and tools such as ArgoCD.
• Experience working with Helm‐based deployments.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes platform concepts including isolation, quotas and scalability.
• Experience with monitoring and logging technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana and ELK.
• Strong understanding of DevOps automation and modern software delivery practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
