Job summary

Locale Civil is hiring for permanent Plant Operator roles across Shepparton. You will operate plant equipment on underground utility networks, following VESI regulations and strict safety procedures.

A strong focus on accuracy in trenching, backfilling, and site prep is essential, with a collaborative metro-based crew. You must hold VESI/VEDN accreditation, WorkSafe competencies, a valid Driver’s Licence, HR Licence and White Card.

Qualifications

• Experience operating plant equipment on underground utility networks.
• Current VESI/VEDN accreditation and WorkSafe competencies.
• Must hold a valid Driver’s Licence and HR licence.
• Construction Induction (White Card) is required.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely with precise excavation and trenching.

Responsibilities

The role:

Join the fast-growing team at Locale Civil! Permanent opportunities for VESI/VEDN-accredited Plant Operators across Shepparton, delivering essential utilities projects with a high-performing metro-based crew.

Your everyday:

• Safe and precise excavation on underground power networks
• Conduct trenching, backfilling, and site preparation with accuracy
• Work in accordance with VESI regulations and company safety procedures
• Complete daily pre-starts, daily diaries, JSEAs and safety reporting
• Work collaboratively with ground crews, supervisors, and project managers.
  

Must Have:

• Current VESI/VEDN-accreditation
• Possess relevant WorkSafe competencies or accreditation certificates relevant to plant/machinery
• Demonstrated experience in plant operation on underground utility networks.
• Possession of a current Driver’s License
• Possession of a current Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence
• Construction Induction (White Card).
