Job summary

Coogee Chemicals is seeking an experienced Plant Operator to join the Chlor Alkali Plant in Kwinana, WA on a permanent full-time basis. This role operates on a 4 days on (2 day shifts then 2 night shifts) and 4 days off roster, working within a small team to maintain safe and efficient plant operations.

You will monitor plant performance, perform routine lab analyses, participate in training, and provide relief for other operators as needed.

Qualifications

• Can work in a small team environment.
• Can respond to process issues.
• Can use laboratory equipment.
• Can perform plant physical tasks.
• Can operate mobile equipment.
• Can recognise hazards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control all aspects of plant operation under the direction of the shift supervisor.
• Carry out a wide variety of duties when spare operator as directed by Supervisor or Superintendent.
• Carry out routine laboratory analyses as required.
• Complete training courses as set out in the training matrix.
• Provide relief for other operators as required.
• Become competent in all aspects of plant operation.
• Assisting maintenance staff if/when required.
• Ensure that all alarms and trips of equipment related to the SIS and BMS safety systems are reported in the Incident Reporting Register.
• Ensure all tanker loading is carried out efficiently and safely and all relevant records are accurate.
