Job summary

WesTrac is seeking experienced Plant Mechanics to join our team permanently at the Tritton Constellation Mine near Cobar, NSW. You will maintain and support a modern Caterpillar mining fleet on a site-based roster with 7 days on, 7 days off, residential or DIDO arrangements, and potential FIFO for suitable candidates with onsite camp accommodation.

As part of a skilled on-site team, you will perform diagnostics, repairs, servicing and fault finding to maximise equipment availability while

Qualifications

• Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification (Cert III Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Vehicle or equivalent).
• Experience maintaining heavy mobile mining equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability.
• Experience working on Caterpillar equipment highly regarded.
• Current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence.
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative site-based team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out breakdown repairs, maintenance and component replacements on heavy mining equipment.
• Diagnose hydraulic, electrical and mechanical faults.
• Complete scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance activities.
• Conduct inspections and condition monitoring to support fleet reliability.
• Accurately complete maintenance documentation and work orders.
• Work collaboratively with Supervisors, Planners and Operations personnel.
• Maintain a strong safety focus and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
