SYMMETRY HUMAN RESOURCES GROUP PTY LTD on the Gold Coast presents a senior Plant Manager opportunity. You will have overall responsibility for day-to-day site performance, leading roughly 150 employees including Production Managers, Supervisors and Line Leaders, and driving safety, quality, cost and efficiency.

This hands-on role requires 5+ years in production or plant management, a degree in Engineering or Business, and proven Lean/continuous improvement experience.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' Production or Plant Management experience.
  • Degree or tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business or related discipline.
  • Experience leading large manufacturing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with OEE, production planning, KPIs and cost control.
  • Strong people leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on, commercially focused leadership style.
  • Experience within packaging, plastics, container manufacturing, chemical or related industrial environments is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Driving production performance, OEE, quality and cost targets.
  • Developing and delivering production plans in line with business requirements.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
  • Applying Lean, Six Sigma, 5 Why and 6S principles.
  • Overseeing maintenance, production planning, logistics and procurement.
  • Identifying and resolving operational issues and reducing inefficiencies.
  • Developing SOPs, processes and systems to improve plant performance.
  • Building capability through coaching, mentoring and cross-training.
  • Driving a strong safety-first and high-performance culture.
  • Working closely with senior management and support functions to achieve business objectives.

This is a senior leadership role for an experienced Plant Manager who enjoys being close to the operation, leading people and driving measurable improvements across production, safety, quality, cost and efficiency.

The Opportunity

You will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the site, leading a workforce of approximately 150 employees and a team of Production Managers, Supervisors and Line Leaders.

About You

You will be an experienced manufacturing leader with:

  • 5+ years' Production or Plant Management experience
  • A degree or tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business or a related discipline
  • Proven experience leading large manufacturing teams
  • Strong practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement
  • Experience with OEE, production planning, KPIs and cost control
  • Strong people leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to turn business objectives into clear actions and measurable results
  • A hands-on and commercially focused leadership style

Experience within packaging, plastics, container manufacturing, chemical or related industrial manufacturing environments will be highly regarded.
