Job summary

The City of Tea Tree Gully is seeking an experienced Planning Officer to join our Regulatory Services Planning team on a permanent full-time basis. You will assess development applications, provide expert planning advice, and contribute to high-quality development outcomes for our growing community.

Reporting to the Team Leader Planning, you will work with internal teams and external stakeholders, undertake site inspections, prepare reports, and support continuous improvement within the planning

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or related discipline.
• Experience assessing development applications in local/state government or private sector.
• Knowledge of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act and Planning and Design Code.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Well-developed negotiation, organisation and time-management skills.
• Proactive approach, professional integrity and customer-focused mindset.
• Current Class C driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Assess and process a wide range of development applications.
• Provide pre-lodgement advice to applicants and stakeholders.
• Respond to planning and development enquiries from the community.
• Undertake site inspections and investigations.
• Prepare reports and recommendations for the Council Assessment Panel.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, government agencies, applicants and community members.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the planning team.
