Job summary

NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure invites applications for a planning officer role. The position is a temporary full-time opportunity, with an office in Parramatta and flexible working supported.

Salary ranges from $119,329 to $134,463 plus super, relative to experience. In this role, you will work on planning projects delivering homes and jobs across NSW, collaborating with councils and stakeholders.

In this role you will

Work on planning projects that help deliver homes and jobs across NSW. Collaborate with councils, communities and stakeholders to turn planning priorities into practical outcomes that support growing and vibrant places.

You’ll research complex planning issues, provide clear advice and help deliver high-quality planning outcomes in a fast-paced environment. Your work will directly support informed decision-making and contribute to achieving Government objectives.

About you

• Strong communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise reports, briefings and advice, and translate complex information into plain English for diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to research issues, evaluate information and develop practical planning solutions in a complex environment.
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build productive relationships with local councils, government agencies, industry and community stakeholders to achieve planning outcomes.
• Proven organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.
  
• Willingness to travel and Class C Driver Licence
