Job summary

Snowy Hydro is seeking a Planning Officer to coordinate and prepare work packages for regional maintenance, ensuring the master work plan is delivered efficiently.

This full‑time, on‑site role is based in the Upper Tumut region and operates on a four‑day DIDO arrangement. The successful candidate will have trade qualifications, maintenance planning experience, and strong OH&S and collaboration skills to support Planning, Asset Management and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification in mechanical or electrical trades is required.
  • Experience in power generation maintenance is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of OH&S policies and standards.
  • Experience with planning and scheduling maintenance activities.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and manage CMMS data.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold high OH&S standards and lead by example.
  • Demonstrate accountability, promote standardisation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Planning & Scheduling, Asset Management and Engineering teams.
  • Design and manage maintenance work packages, schedules and CMMS records.
  • Maintain Ellipse system records and ensure contractor compliance.

The Planning Officer role focuses on coordinating and preparing work packages for regional maintenance to ensure the master work plan is delivered efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Occupational Health & Safety: Upholding high safety standards, complying with policies, and leading by example.

  • Leadership: Demonstrating accountability, driving standardisation, and promoting continuous improvement.

  • Team Membership: Collaborating with various teams (Planning & Scheduling, Asset Management, Engineering) and actively seeking opportunities to improve personal skills.

  • Planning & Scheduling: Designing and managing maintenance work packages, schedules, and CMMS data.

  • Technical Process: Maintaining Ellipse system records, supporting management, and ensuring contractor compliance.

About the location

This role is full time, 100% on site, based within the Upper Tumut region, working on a DIDO arrangement (4 day week).

About you
  • Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualified (Certificate III or IV), with post-trade experience, ideally in heavy industry
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical specifications and conduct inspections to deliver intended work outcomes.
  • Experience in maintenance and reliability improvement in Power Generation
  • Knowledge of OH&S, Environmental Policies and Standards and Maintenance Systems (Ellipse) is an advantage
  • Excellent communication & influencing skills with the ability to relate to all levels inside and outside the business
  • Good Technology skills and experience of maintenance program requirements, analysis techniques, and maintenance management practices
  • Knowledge of OH&S, Environmental Policies and Standards
