Job summary

Main Roads WA in East Perth is seeking an organised, motivated Planning Assessment Coordinator to join the Road Access and Planning team. You will manage a diverse range of planning matters and collaborate with government and stakeholders to deliver high-quality transport planning outcomes.

The role requires strong knowledge of planning processes, statutory requirements, and the ability to lead people and mentor team members while promoting inclusive and effective engagement.

  • Demonstrated expertise in planning, transport, road design, or traffic engineering.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with experience in applying planning systems and statutory processes.
  • Ability to lead people and manage resources effectively to deliver organisational outcomes.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning projects and manage diverse planning matters.
  • Collaborate with government, local governments, and external stakeholders to deliver planning outcomes.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members within Road Access and Planning.
  • Apply legislation, policies, procedures and standards relevant to transport planning.

About the opportunity

Main Roads is seeking an organised, motivated, and passionate planning professional to join our Road Access and Planning team based in East Perth. This role involves managing a diverse range of planning matters and would suit someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and a dynamic team. Working across government and with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, this position is ideal for an enthusiastic professional who is committed to coaching, mentoring, and developing team members, while contributing to high-quality planning outcomes. The successful candidate will bring sound knowledge and experience in interpreting and applying legislation, policies, procedures, and standards relevant to transport planning.
