Job summary

Michael Hill is seeking a Planning and Allocation Assistant for our Merchandise Planning team at the Brisbane Support Centre. You will work closely with the Planner to support inventory accuracy, reporting, and allocation across our store network.

The role suits someone curious, analytical and eager to learn, with a background in office, administration, inventory or analytical work. Prior planning experience is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day planning and allocations across stores and DCs.

• Identify opportunities and recommend actions to optimise stock.
• Collaborate with Merchandising to coordinate weekly priorities.
• Assist with improvement projects across Planning and Merchandise.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Planning and Allocation Assistant to join our Merchandise Planning team, based at our Australian Support Centre in Brisbane.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is curious, analytical and passionate about retail. You’ll gain hands‑on experience across inventory, allocations, reporting and merchandise planning while building valuable skills for a long‑term career in the retail industry.

What you’ll be doing

Working closely with the Planner and wider Merchandise team, you’ll support the day‑to‑day planning and allocation needs of the business. You’ll help ensure our inventory is accurate, reporting is reliable and products are effectively allocated across our store network.

In this role, you’ll:

• Support inventory and allocations across our stores and Distribution Centres
• Assist with order management, replenishment and new product ranges
• Monitor priority purchase orders and deliveries into stores
• Complete regular reporting and analysis
• Identify opportunities and recommend appropriate actions
• Support assortment and inventory planning through accurate analysis
• Complete data checks and audits to maintain a high level of accuracy
• Assist with problem‑solving and administrative requirements
• Contribute to improvement projects across Planning and Merchandise
• Collaborate with the Merchandise team to coordinate weekly priorities

What we’re looking for

You may be an experienced retail team member looking to move into merchandise planning, or you may already have some office, administration, inventory or analytical experience. A background in planning is not essential. More than anything, we’re looking for someone who is eager to learn and ready to take on a new challenge.
