Job summary

Michael Hill is seeking a Planning and Allocation Assistant to join the Merchandise Planning team at our Australian Support Centre in Brisbane. You’ll gain hands-on experience across inventory, allocations, reporting and merchandise planning while building valuable skills for a long-term career in retail.

You’ll work closely with the Planner and broader team to support day-to-day planning, ensure accurate inventory, reliable reporting and effective allocation across store networks.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proactive, flexible and positive approach.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow tasks through.
• Strong problem-solving skills and curious mindset.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUPs and formulas.
• Enthusiasm for retail and merchandise planning.

Responsibilities

• Support inventory and allocations across stores and Distribution Centres.
• Assist with order management, replenishment and new product ranges.
• Monitor priority purchase orders and deliveries into stores.
• Complete regular reporting and analysis.
• Identify opportunities and recommend actions.
• Support assortment and inventory planning through accurate analysis.
• Complete data checks and audits to maintain accuracy.
• Assist with problem-solving and administrative requirements.
• Contribute to improvement projects across Planning and Merchandise.
• Collaborate with the Merchandise team to coordinate weekly priorities.
