Job summary

Verbrec Limited is seeking a proactive Pipeline Technician for a full-time permanent position in Victoria. You will join a skilled team to safely perform field services across pipelines and related assets, including emergency welding, repairs, testing and inspections.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in process plant operations or CP1 Cathodic Protection Tester – NACE.
• Equivalent trade certificate in mechanical fitting or plumbing is advantageous.
• Experience in gas industry, especially pipeline inspection and maintenance, is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently execute field services for Verbrec’s pipelines and external clients.
• Perform emergency welding and response, repairs, leak testing, and depth of cover surveys.
• Conduct cathodic protection surveys, non-destructive testing, pigging, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Support pipeline and facility construction and integrity inspections in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines.

We are currently seeking an energetic, motivated, and enthusiastic Pipeline Technician on a full-time permanent basis for our team in Victoria. Reporting to the National Operations Manager, the purpose of the role is to safely and efficiently execute field services works for Verbrec’s operated pipelines and external clients alike. These services include emergency Welding and Response; Repair; Leak Testing; Depth of Cover Surveys; Cathodic Protection Surveys; Non-Destructive Testing; Pipeline Pigging; Testing, Pre-commissioning, and Commissioning; Pipeline and facility construction and Integrity Inspections:

• To the highest level of safety, environment, community & stakeholder requirements.
• To meet agreed quality, operability, schedule, and cost targets; and
• In strict accordance with the relevant statutory & regulatory guidelines.

• Certificate III in process plant operations or CP 1 - Cathodic Protection Tester – NACE.
• An equivalent trade certificate - mechanical fitting and or plumbing will be highly regarded.
• Experience within the gas industry be highly regarded specifically in the areas of pipeline inspection and maintenance.
• A safety-first approach.
• Experience working in remote areas.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• A high level of mechanical aptitude and willingness to develop on a diverse range of skills.
• Good communications skills, both written and oral.
• Sound computer skills.
• Experience with communicating with landowners and occupiers.
