Job summary

Malcolm Civil is seeking an experienced Pipelayer to join our growing South East Queensland team. You will contribute to underground drainage, sewer and stormwater works, working with site supervisors and civil crews to deliver projects safely and to a high standard.

The role requires hands-on installation of stormwater, sewer and drainage systems, reading civil drawings and coordinating with plant operators to keep work progressing on program.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Pipelayer in civil construction.
• Strong hands-on experience with stormwater, sewer and drainage installation.
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and plans.
• Experience around excavators and other civil construction plant.
• Commitment to safety, quality and productivity.
• Reliable, punctual and hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Install stormwater, sewer, water main and drainage pipes per plans and specifications.
• Assist with trenching, pipe laying, bedding, backfilling and compaction.
• Set up and maintain correct pipe grades, dumpy levels and alignments.
• Read and interpret civil drawings, service plans and levels.
• Work closely with plant operators, labourers and supervisors to keep works progressing to program.
• Assist with the installation of pits, manholes, culverts and associated drainage infrastructure.
• Ensure materials, equipment and work areas are organised and ready for daily activities.
• Follow all site safety procedures, including trenching and excavation requirements.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure installations meet project specifications.
• Identify and report site issues, service clashes and potential delays.

Working alongside our site supervisors and civil crews, you'll play a key role in delivering underground drainage, sewer and stormwater infrastructure works safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Install stormwater, sewer, water main and drainage pipes in accordance with plans and specifications
• Assist with trenching, pipe laying, bedding, backfilling and compaction
• Set up and maintain correct pipe grades, dumpy levels and alignments
• Read and interpret civil drawings, service plans and levels
• Work closely with plant operators, labourers and supervisors to keep works progressing to program
• Assist with the installation of pits, manholes, culverts and associated drainage infrastructure
