Job summary

Freemove Pilates in Western Australia seeks an experienced Studio Manager to oversee Jolimont and Kinross studios. You’ll run day-to-day operations with autonomy, owning performance, rosters, customer relations and growth initiatives.

You’ll lead instructors, manage performance, mentor staff and partner with the Managing Director to execute strategic plans as Freemove expands with a new studio. This is a senior leadership role with real accountability.

Qualifications

• Be an experienced Reformer Pilates instructor.
• Have previous leadership experience (Preferred but not essential).
• Be confident managing people and performance.

• Have strong communication skills and understand member service, sales and retention.

Job description

Due to a restructure within the business, with one of our owners stepping away from day-to-day operations, and further expansion planned with another studio opening in November, Freemove Pilates is looking for an experienced Studio Manager to oversee our Jolimont and Kinross locations.

This is a genuine senior leadership role.

From day one, you will be responsible for the day-to-day performance and operation of the studios.

We are looking for somebody we can hand the keys to and trust to run the business as if it were their own.

You will have real autonomy, real responsibility and the opportunity to directly influence the success of the business, without the financial risk that comes with ownership.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Your role will include:

Recruiting, managing and developing instructors

Performance management and team leadership

Building and optimising rosters

Managing day-to-day studio operations

Member communication, retention and issue resolution

Sales follow-up and membership conversions

Social media and local marketing

Driving membership growth and studio performance

Identifying and implementing operational improvements

You won’t be micromanaged.

You will be trusted to make decisions, solve problems and take ownership of outcomes.

If something needs fixing, we strategise to fix it.

If there is an opportunity, we pursue it & take the win.

If something doesn’t work, we learn from it and move forward.

You’ll Have Support

While you will own the role from day one, you won’t be doing it alone.

You will work closely with our Managing Director, who brings more than 25 years of business operations and leadership experience.

He will be there to mentor you, challenge you, help you work through difficult decisions and provide high-level support whenever needed.

The relationship is designed to be a partnership: you run the studios, while the Managing Director helps you succeed.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for a mature and commercially minded person with significant experience in the Pilates industry.

Ideally, you will:

Be an experienced Reformer Pilates instructor

Have previous leadership experience (Preferred but not essential)

Be confident managing people and performance

Be organised and decisive

Have strong communication skills

Understand member service, sales and retention (Or be willing to learn)

Be comfortable with social media and marketing

Enjoy taking ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do

Most importantly, we want somebody who genuinely wants to run a studio, not simply work in one.
