Job description: Looking for a change from Clinical practice?

At Goodstart Early Learning, we’re looking for an Occupational Therapist who’s passionate about early intervention, inclusion and capability building.

This is not your typical OT role, rather than providing traditional one-to-one therapy, you’ll work alongside educators, centre leaders and families, helping children thrive in the environments where they learn, play and develop every day.

You’ll use your expertise to build the capability of those supporting children, creating lasting impact that reaches far beyond individual sessions.

Your Impact
  • Implement evidence-informed approaches that improve outcomes for children and families within early learning settings.
  • Work alongside Centre Directors, educators and other key stakeholders to observe, identify and support children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
  • Coach and mentor educators to build inclusive practices and strengthen their capability to support children’s participation and engagement.
  • Use a strengths-based approach to promote inclusion and support children’s occupational performance in everyday learning environments.
  • Partner with families to support their child's inclusion, participation and access to services when additional support is needed.
  • Build strong relationships with local services and strengthen referral pathways for children and families.
  • Deliver professional development, workshops and coaching sessions that enhance educator knowledge, confidence and capability.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, Allied Health professionals and community partners to achieve the best outcomes for children.
What Goodstart can offer you
  • Part-time flexibility (22.8 hrs/week) to fit your lifestyle
  • Salary packaging benefits available through AccessPay (eligibility applies)
  • Access to discounted childcare (up to 15%)
  • Fitness Passport - access to gyms and pools for you and your family at a heavily discounted price
  • Discounted health care and access to employee wellbeing program with BUPA
  • Exclusive discounts on travel, gym memberships, Apple and Dell products, and more.
  • Free annual flu shot (optional)
  • Option to purchase extra leave for even greater work life balance
  • First Nations Support and Cultural Leave
  • Work for a company that has an aspiration to be globally recognised for early years practice and learning outcomes
  • Gain significant investment in your growth and development with support, tools, training and experiences that will truly enhance the progress and outcomes for children in their earliest years.
You’ll bring to the table
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy and current General Registration with AHPRA.
  • Strong understanding of child development from birth to 5 years and the benefits of supporting children in natural learning environments.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and coaching skills, with the ability to work effectively with educators, families and key stakeholders.
  • Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
  • Ability to analyse information, document outcomes and report on key performance indicators.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and a proactive approach to building capability and supporting inclusion.
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Willing to obtain a Certificate of Completion for the National Child Safety Foundation Training, completed via Geccko platform
