Job summary

Southern NSW Local Health District seeks an Allied Health Assistant - Physiotherapy to support patients and assist physiotherapists in delivering safe, patient-centred care at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals. You will work across clinical and administrative tasks, prioritising patient needs while maintaining confidentiality and teamwork.

The role requires a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or willingness to undertake training, with strong communication skills and a health

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or willingness to undertake training.
• Previous experience in a health environment.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical assistance to patients and support physiotherapists in delivering therapy programs under supervision.
• Assist with individual and group exercise, therapy and patient education programs.
• Support patients to participate in activities that maximise functional independence.
• Observe and document patient attendance, presentation and therapy outcomes.
• Communicate patient progress and changes to supervising staff.
• Organise workload and maintain confidentiality and professional standards.
