Job summary

West Moreton Health is seeking a skilled physiotherapist to deliver high-level rehab-focused care with opportunities to lead and mentor teams.

The role rotates between Ripley Specialised Inpatient Services and Ipswich Hospital, providing diverse clinical exposure and leadership within rehabilitation services. Temporary full-time contract from 14 December 2026 to 1 August 2027, with professional development opportunities and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Registration or membership with the appropriate Australian registration authority is mandatory.
• Vaccination against specified diseases as per Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16 is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-level physiotherapy clinical practice with limited supervision.
• Provide clinical advice to service managers on delivery and development of services.
• Provide supervision and teaching to students, assistants and junior staff.

The key responsibilities of the role will include

• Deliver high level physiotherapy clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
• Provide clinical advice to relevant professional/service managers regarding service delivery and development of clinical services
• Provide clinical practice supervision and training to students, assistants, and less experienced [physiotherapy practitioners with the support of senior staff.
• Facilitate and contribute to quality improvement and/or clinical research projects of clinical importance

• High level of knowledge and skills in physiotherapy services within rehabilitation.
• Ability to communicate effectively within a team environment to influence a clinical or service outcome.
• Ability to independently manage clinical caseloads.
• Ability to monitor and report clinical work practices and outcomes that supports continuous local service improvement initiatives.

Mandatory Requirements

• Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
• Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Australia
