Job summary

Queensland Health is seeking a Senior Physiotherapist to deliver advanced clinical services within Hospital in the Home, Cairns and Hinterland. You will lead and mentor staff and students while supporting patients to receive hospital-level care in their homes.

You will work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team, contribute to service development, and provide expert clinical advice on resources, equipment and patient care pathways in a dynamic regional setting.

  • Provide clinical guidance to supervisors and service managers on delivery and equipment.
  • Model reflective practice to support staff and students within the team.

As a Physiotherapist - Senior, you'll provide advanced clinical services, lead and mentor staff and students, and play a key role in supporting patients to receive safe, high-quality hospital-level care in their own homes. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you'll be recognised as a trusted clinical resource, helping drive excellence in patient outcomes across Cairns and Hinterland.

Hospital in the Home provides care in a patient's permanent or temporary residence for conditions that require ongoing clinical governance, monitoring and/or treatment, as a substitution for in-hospital admitted care.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will.....

  • Deliver high level physiotherapy clinical and consultancy services as part of a multi-professional team, in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards
  • Work independently and autonomously utilising advanced problem-solving skills to manage a complex and varied clinical caseload, applying evidence-based practice and clinical judgement with minimal clinical practice supervision.
  • Contribute to the daily operational management of the Hospital in the Home team and organisation of the workload with allocated resources using planning, time management skills and prioritisation.
  • Provide clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors and relevant service managers regarding service delivery, equipment, technology and the prioritisation and development of clinical services.
  • Demonstrate self-insight, reflection and awareness of the effect of own actions on others, to promote positive and supportive work environments, relationships and teamwork within the physiotherapy and multidisciplinary teams.
