Job summary

NextSense is hiring a Physiotherapist for a permanent part-time role (22.8 hours per week) based at the Werrington location, reporting to the Team Lead- Greater Sydney. You will work with clients and families to support independence, applying structured therapy to improve motor skills and participation.

The role emphasizes collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, adherence to child protection policies, and ongoing professional development within a not-for-profit hearing and vision services

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' physiotherapy experience with sound clinical knowledge.
• Collaborative multidisciplinary team member.
• Experience with sensory disability is highly desirable.
• Experience working towards goals and KPIs.
• Familiarity with the NDIS framework is advantageous.
• Be willing to obtain WWCC and NDIS Worker Check.
• Full AHPRA registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide structured, goal-based physiotherapy to improve gross and fine motor skills and mobility.
• Deliver services in person and via telepractice across NextSense locations.
• Complete client records and reports meeting legislative and policy requirements.
• Engage in clinical supervision and contribute to team development.
• Support families and clients to achieve independent, meaningful participation.
• Assist with developing new service delivery protocols with leadership.

This is a Permanent Part-Time opportunity (22.8 hours per week) reporting directly to the Team Lead- Greater Sydney and will be based at our Werrington Location.

You’ll make a difference in this role by:

• Working with clients and families to support their goals in living more independent and fulfilling lives.
• Helping children with a sensory impairment to achieve important developmental milestones and improve participation at home, school and in the community.
• Providingstructured, goal based therapy that promotes play; enhances gross and fine motor skills; improves mobility; and prevents joint stiffness, weakness and postural deformities.
• Recommendingequipment (standing frames, mobility aids, footwear, etc) as required.
• Providing evidence based assessment, intervention supports and other clinically appropriate strategies to assist client/family to achieve outcomes.
• Delivering services in person, via telepractice in a NextSense centre, client home, school or other appropriate setting.
• Completing client related administration, ensuring all client information and records, inclusive of case notes, and reports meet legislative and policy requirements
• Understanding and strive to achieve key metrics and performance indicators for your role to maintain sustainable activity and achieve outcomes for our clients.
• Participating in and provide clinical supervision to other team members.
• Committing to continuing professional development across the DHH/BLV sector, and subsequently demonstrate and share knowledge
• Leading professional development activities for team and external stakeholders where appropriate.
• Participating in development of new service delivery protocols in conjunction with BPLs and broader services integration team.
• Any other reasonable duties as requested by your manager

Desired Skills and Experience

About You:

• A minimum of 2years' experience providing physiotherapy services, with demonstrated sound clinical knowledge and skills. Relevant equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Be able to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to client outcomes in a team setting
• Prior experience in working with clients with a sensory disability highly desirable
• Experience working towards goals and key performance indicators
• Working knowledge of NDIS framework desirable
• Ability to learn new systems, processes and frameworks
• Valid Working With Children Check and NDIS Workers Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Full Registration with AHPRA.
• You are obliged to become familiar with, and comply with child protection policies and legislation, as amended from time to time
