Job summary

Carrington Care is seeking a skilled Physiotherapist to join our allied health team in a full- or part-time capacity (8:00am–4:00pm). This role focuses on maintaining independence and mobility for older people in care and in the community, through personalised assessment and treatment plans.

You will work with an experienced multidisciplinary team, provide falls prevention strategies, and support clients toward improved mobility and quality of life, in a not-for-profit organisation committed to

Qualifications

  • AHPRA general registration required; new graduates welcome.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Willingness to travel to community clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assess residents' physical conditions and functional abilities.
  • Develop and evaluate care plans and functional health assessments.
  • Create evidence-based treatment plans and coordinate reablement programs.
  • Implement and manage falls prevention strategies.
  • Provide community-based physiotherapy and support broader community.
  • Manage private physiotherapy services with personalised treatment.
  • Conduct pre-employment assessments and recommend accommodations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for care planning meetings.

The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a skilled and empathetic Physiotherapist to join our dynamic and expanding team in a Full Time or Part Time capacity (8:00am-4:00pm), enabling wellbeing and quality of life for older people in care and living independently. Help clients achieve improved mobility, pain relief, and a better quality of life, and enjoy growing in a supportive team focused on service that is person-centred, best practice and continuously improving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting assessments of residents' physical conditions and functional abilities
  • Developing and evaluating resident care plans and formulating functional health assessments for new residents
  • Developing evidence-based treatment plans and coordinating client reablement programs and therapy plans
  • Implementation and management of falls prevention strategies
  • Practicing in community care, extending physiotherapy expertise beyond our facilities to support the broader community
  • Managing private physiotherapy services, offering specialised physiotherapy care to individuals seeking personalised treatment
  • Conducting pre-employment assessments for new staff to evaluate their physical capabilities and recommending adjustments or accommodations as needed
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care planning, including case conferences and care planning meetings

  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Sound knowledge of WHS and manual handling practices
  • Willingness and ability to travel to clients in the community
  • NDIS Worker Check Clearance, and a pre-employment physiotherapy assessment during recruitment process.
