Job summary

Amazon is seeking an AWS Incident Response Team Analyst in the Physical Security Operations Centre (PSOC) to act as the first line of defence for AWS infrastructure in Australia. You will respond to physical security events in real time, coordinate guard forces, manage access control, and gather intelligence to keep people, operations, and infrastructure safe.

You will work across SOPs, incident management, and communications, ensuring efficient responses and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain Australian Government Security Clearance.
• 3+ years experience in Physical Security Operation Centre monitoring and response.
• Experience coordinating contracted security guards and incident management.
• Experience developing operational documentation and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Protect AWS infrastructure by incident response, assessment, escalation and resolution.
• Monitor physical access control systems and manage access permissions.
• Coordinate contracted guard forces and disseminate threat intelligence.
• Develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures for the PSOC.
• Triage trouble tickets, handle internal queries and provide technical support to stakeholders.

Your Role

Imagine being the first line of defence for AWS infrastructure. As an AWS Incident Response Team (IRT) Analyst within the Physical Security Operations Centre (PSOC), you'll be the vigilant eyes and decisive mind protecting the physical backbone.

Key job responsibilities

You’ll be the operational heartbeat of the PSOC - the person who turns protocols into protection and intelligence into action.

Protecting AWS Infrastructure

Your core mission is incident response. When physical security events affect AWS infrastructure, associates, or operations, you're the one who assesses, escalates, and resolves.

You’ll monitor physical access control systems, administer access permissions, and ensure only authorised personnel access our spaces.

Coordinating the Security Ecosystem

You’ll oversee contracted guard forces, ensuring they operate to AWS standards.

Your intelligence gathering will keep teams informed and prepared.

When something changes in the threat landscape, you’ll connect the dots and distribute relevant information.

Building the Playbook

You won’t just follow Standard Operating Procedures - you'll develop them.

Your frontline experience will shape how the PSOC operates, creating frameworks that future team members will rely on.

Keeping Operations Moving

From triaging trouble tickets to managing communications, you’ll be the connective tissue between security operations and the broader AWS organisation.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in physical security best practices including application of physical security systems, investigation techniques, management of contract security guards and incident management
• 3+ years experience in Physical Security Operation Centre monitoring and response.
• Demonstrable experience in developing operational documentation as well as metrics and report generation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with physical security control and surveillance systems
• Certificate III in Security Operations or equivalent
