Job description
Physical Performance Coach - Men's Program

SACA is looking for an experienced Physical Performance Coach to join our Men's program team. You will play a crucial role in the planning and delivery of elite physical preparation programs for SACA Pathways, State Academy and Senior State squads as well as the Adelaide Strikers Academy.

The role will also include duties relating to physical performance testing, workload monitoring and the ongoing implementation of sports science technologies (VALD, Catapult and AMS) to inform training prescription, performance readiness and long-term physical development. This role will work closely with other members of the SSSM Team, Cricket Department and broader Australian Cricket network to deliver SACA's strategic goals.

Please note that this is a full-time, 2-year fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, prescription and delivery of all elements of the physical performance program for Male Pathways and Academy squads
  • Coordinate and lead physical performance testing, workload monitoring and periodic reporting on physical performance for male Pathways and Academy squads
  • Continue to refine a long-term athletic development plan linking SACA Male pathways, academy and senior squads to assist with the transition between pathways and professional cricket
  • Monitor latest trends, data and research in relation to physical performance/strength and conditioning (specifically in cricket)
  • Ensure all relevant session information is accurately completed and reflected within the Athlete Management System (AMS) in a timely manner
  • Hold a valid Working with Children Check or have the ability to obtain one
Desirable Qualifications
  • Bachelor's and Post Graduate Degree (e.g. Human Movement, Sport Science or other relevant degree)
  • At least 3 years' experience providing physical performance services to elite and/or sub-elite athletes/programs
  • Professional Level 2 Australian Strength & Conditioning Association accreditation or equivalent (with current membership)
  • A Masters level or equivalent postgraduate qualification specialising in Strength & Conditioning (desirable)
  • Proven ability to lead and implement long-term athletic development programs
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver physical performance programs to elite and sub-elite athletes
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to meet the demands of high-performance sporting environments including players, coaches and support staff
  • Ability to align individual/specific program objectives to wider organisational/system objectives
  • Experience and capability in data platforms relevant to physical preparation and development (i.e. VALD, Catapult systems)
