Job summary

NSW Health Pathology is offering a Temporary Full Time Technical Assistant Grade 2 role based at Westmead Hospital. You will contribute to a fast-paced pathology collection service across inpatient and community settings, delivering safe, high-quality care while supporting colleagues.

The role requires venepuncture, strong attention to detail and good communication. It includes shifts across locations, learning opportunities, and eligibility for NSW Health benefits.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Pathology Collections with venepuncture experience or ability to learn clinical collection practices.
• Customer service experience and ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers and staff.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for specimen handling and transport.
• Familiarity with pathology terminology and willingness to learn a broad scope of collection and data entry tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture and specimen collection in inpatient, outpatient and home care settings.
• Carry out data entry, processing and delivery of specimens to pathology sites.
• Provide a high-quality patient-centred service to referrers and consumers.
