Job summary

Monash University invites applications for a PhD scholarship with Wiser Healthcare focusing on health system sustainability and resilience. The PhD is part of a NHMRC-funded Centre of Research Excellence, hosted within the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash.

The successful candidate will work under Professors Denise O'Connor and Rachelle Buchbinder, contribute to research on healthcare overuse/underuse, and participate in capacity-building programs, mentoring, and

Qualifications

Honours or Master’s degree with a substantial research component or equivalent research experience.
Strong academic record and demonstrated aptitude for research.
Interest in improving value, sustainability, equity and/or quality of health care.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team.
Strong organisational, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct doctoral research addressing health system sustainability, overuse and underuse of healthcare, and related CRE priorities.
Collaborate with a national multidisciplinary team across partner institutions and stakeholders.
Engage in mentoring, professional development, research dissemination and real-world impact activities.
