Job summary

Barwon Health's Pharmacy Department in Geelong is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support safe and efficient medication supply for inpatients and outpatients. Based at University Hospital Geelong, you may work across Barwon Health's campuses, collaborating with dispensary and ward pharmacists in a busy, teaching hospital environment.

This permanent part-time opportunity (32 hours per fortnight) offers varied and rewarding work, with a focus on patient care, accuracy, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Completion of Certificate III in Hospital-Health Services Pharmacy Support, or willingness to complete within an agreed timeframe.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a busy team environment.
• Knowledge of the PBS and previous hospital or community pharmacy experience are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare prescriptions accurately to support the safe supply of medications.
• Assist with dispensary operations, medication stock management and imprest supply.
• Work collaboratively with pharmacists and the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality pharmacy services.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality improvement and safe medication practices.

About the role

Based at University Hospital Geelong, this position may also require you to work across Barwon Health's three campuses. Working closely with dispensary and ward pharmacists, you'll support the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services to both inpatients and outpatients.
