Job summary

Barwon Health is seeking a Pharmacy Storeperson at University Hospital Geelong to support safe, timely supply of medicines and stock across the health service. You will receive, store, and distribute stock, operate the pharmacy robot and assist with fluid replenishment in a teaching hospital environment.

The role works 7 days per fortnight, 7:30am–2:30pm, with occasional extra hours for leave coverage. Strong teamwork, accuracy and computer skills are essential for patient-focused service.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative work.

• Flexible and reliable with responsibility in a hospital setting.
• Previous pharmacy, warehousing or stores experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack and safely store deliveries, with heavy lifting and cold chain checks.
• Operate the pharmacy robot to input and pick stock.
• Accurately pick and pack orders for wards and external sites.
• Perform fluid imprest checks and replenish stock as required.
• Monitor stock levels and expiry dates; escalate issues when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe pharmacy store environment.
• Support weekend ward fluid replenishment and other store activities as required.

About the role

Join the Pharmacy team at University Hospital Geelong as a Pharmacy Storeperson, supporting the safe, accurate and timely supply of medicines, fluids and other pharmacy stock across Barwon Health. Working alongside a dedicated and supportive pharmacy team, you’ll receive and store deliveries, pick and distribute stock to wards and external sites, operate the pharmacy robot and assist with fluid replenishment. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in a hospital pharmacy environment, with ongoing training and support provided. This position works 7 days per fortnight, from 7:30am to 2:30pm, with additional hours available from time to time to support leave coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack and safely store pharmaceutical and fluid deliveries, including undertaking frequent heavy lifting, manual handling and maintaining cold chain requirements
• Operate the pharmacy robot to input and pick stock
• Accurately and efficiently pick and pack orders for wards and external sites
• Complete fluid imprest checks and replenish stock as required
• Monitor stock levels, expiry dates and discrepancies, escalating issues to the Purchasing team
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe pharmacy store environment
• Support weekend ward fluid replenishment and other store activities as required
