Job summary

Amcal Express Ultimo is seeking a friendly and motivated Pharmacy Assistant / Dispensary Technician to join our growing community pharmacy in Ultimo. This part-time position has genuine potential to progress to full-time and offers family-friendly weekday hours aligned with school drop-off and pick-up times.

Amcal Express Ultimo is seeking a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant / Dispensary Technician to join our growing community pharmacy in Ultimo.

Opened earlier this year and conveniently located within a busy medical centre, Amcal Express Ultimo is quickly becoming a trusted healthcare destination for the local community.

This is initially a part-time position with genuine potential to progress to full-time for the right candidate. With family-friendly weekday hours that align closely with school drop-off and pick-up times, the role may particularly suit someone seeking consistent work during school hours.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Assistant or Dispensary Technician to join a new and expanding pharmacy, contribute to its continued growth and help deliver an exceptional customer experience.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Pharmacy Assistant / Dispensary Technician, you will be one of the first points of contact for our customers while supporting the day-to-day retail and dispensary operations of the pharmacy.

Depending on your qualifications and experience, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing friendly, professional and attentive customer service
• Assisting customers with pharmacy products and general enquiries
• Processing sales accurately through the point-of-sale system
• Supporting dispensary workflow where appropriately trained and authorised
• Assisting with Dose Administration Aid (DAA) packing where appropriately trained
• Receiving, unpacking and replenishing pharmacy stock
• Maintaining shelves, displays and promotional stock
• Assisting with stock control, inventory management and expiry-date checking
• Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming pharmacy environment
• Supporting the pharmacist and wider pharmacy team with daily operations

ABOUT YOU

To succeed in this role, you will ideally bring:

• Previous experience in community pharmacy, retail or customer service
• Excellent computer literacy and confidence learning new pharmacy systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
• A friendly, professional and customer-focused approach
• Reliability, initiative and a positive attitude
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team
• Flexibility to support the pharmacy’s changing operational requirements

HIGHLY REGARDED

Candidates with any of the following experience are strongly encouraged to apply:

• Previous community pharmacy experience
• Dispensary Technician qualifications or relevant dispensary experience
• Dose Administration Aid (DAA) or Webster-pak packing experience
• Experience with FRED Dispense or FRED POS
• Knowledge of pharmacy products, stock control and dispensary workflow
